Capitalizing on the Relationship Centric Era in Fundraising

Nowadays, customers expect a lot from their business. They want the best products, the best services, and the fastest turnaround. The way businesses interact with their customers has also changed over time. We’re now in a period where the relationship between the customers and the company needs to be strong for any new business to see success.

WHAT IS THE RELATIONSHIP CENTRIC ERA?

Nowadays, customers expect a lot from their business. They want the best products, the best services, and the fastest turnaround. The way businesses interact with their customers has also changed over time. We’re now in a period where the relationship between the customers and the company needs to be strong for any new business to see success. Fundraising is about building trust & relationships in a way that inspires people to give you their support.

THIS ERA IS COMING

The new era of thinking about relationships with customers is pretty much here. There are so many emails, social media posts, and ad campaigns that the market is becoming saturated. So customers tend not to interact with your campaign until they know for sure you care about them. According to LinkedIn, we see about 5000 digital ads per day! So on a given day, one customer could see up to 5000 advertisements, which makes it very hard for one company to stand out. Having a good relationship with your customers makes them prioritize your product or service over another company's product or service.

ADAPTING TO THIS NEW ERA

It is important to stay up to date on the current market to make sure your business is where it needs to be. Given there is so much market saturation, companies must adapt to survive. But thinking about gaining mind share over your customers or potential customers is very hard. To start, prioritizing quality over quantity is an excellent way to build meaningful connections with your customers. So spending time on every step in the process where your customers interact with you is well worth it. A great example of this is buying a new Apple product and opening the box. If you take any product from Apple, the boxes are pristine, they are meant to be opened mindfully, and overall the customer has a good experience.

USING SOCIAL MEDIA TO YOUR ADVANTAGE

Having an up to date, active social media account is an excellent way to show your customers that you are a dynamic business. Quality over quantity is a great principle to keep in mind here. By having a well-maintained brand that is the same across all platforms, you can build a familiar rapport in the mind of your customers. This familiarity will keep them engaged with your brand and will ultimately set you apart from competitors when customers decide where to spend their dollars.
