Yes, you read that title right! Abdulla is from Egypt! Wow, do we have a diverse team!? With members who travel and live in places all over the world, you’ll find a colorful, international community here at IgnitePost. It’s a great environment for those interested in getting a glimpse of different cultures, thought processes, and perspectives. That’s Abdulla’s favorite part about working with us; he enjoys learning and always feels inspired by the conversations he has.

Abdulla is the company’s software developer. Both he and Cristi handle the technical elements of IgnitePost. Together, they aim to make it easier and smoother to create and send a personalized, handwritten IgnitePost card. With great user experience, comes great satisfaction, and that brings success for everyone! Abdulla occasionally handles our website needs as well. When Abdulla’s not programming and improving our systems, you can find him playing chess with friends. It’s a game that he loves and one of his favorite hobbies. His dream is to one day participate in tournaments and earn an international chess title. With enough practice, time, and effort, it’s not far from reach. You can also catch him reading classics, especially books on Ancient Greece - Abdulla is a huge fan. He has read famous titles like The Iliad and The Odyssey as well as the works of Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, and Alexander the Great. You name it, and he’s probably read it, taken notes, and been prepared to give a lesson on the subject for hours. Whenever he can, Abdulla likes to wiggle in a quote from one of his favorite philosophers in conversations with friends or strangers. Everyone needs a bit of Aristotle in their lives!

Abdulla also likes to snack on savory finger foods while he is working or reading. When your brain is hard at work, you have to fuel it and keep your energy up! Abdulla is not a picky eater, but he believes that any great meal should include chicken. As long as chicken is in that dish, he’ll absolutely love it! Fried, grilled, roasted…yum!!!

Recently, Abdulla has been reading, playing chess, and eating his favorite foods more often. Outside activities have certainly slowed down due to the pandemic. However, Abdulla has been keeping his mind engaged and his wits sharp by reading sci-fi novels. To all those looking for a good read, he recommends Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, which is written by Philip K. Dick. Abdulla feels a connection with the characters, with their struggles and conflicting values in a world that has been ravaged and left ruined after a nuclear global war. It reflects how he feels about current times. Like many others, Abdulla is worried and uncertain about the future given global warming and the COVID-19 pandemic.

But he’s staying optimistic and hopes that everything will turn out well in the end. It’s a good time for self-reflection and contemplation, and many in our company are working to improve themselves, whether it’s by learning new skills or strengthening their bonds with loved ones. Abdulla, in particular, wants to spend more time with his family.
