WHO IS FRANKTOWN OPEN HEARTS?

“We are on a mission to change the future of Franklin, Tennessee’s inner-city youth.”

A faith-based nonprofit organization, Franktown Open Hearts is committed to ensuring the success of Franklin’s youth, particularly those who live in neighborhoods like Williamson County, where deep economic struggles, drugs, crime, and gangs have existed for generations. Children from ages 8 to18 are given an outlet for recreation and with “hands-on” activities, they receive mentoring and learn important life skills.

Activities can range from computer programming, reading, and Bible study to jewelry making, cooking, auto repair, woodworking, fishing, and sports like basketball. And that’s not all - Franktown also provides college application assistance and test prep so that children get the support they need to reach the levels of success they are all capable of.

Do you think that’s great? There’s even more! The organization provides free transportation and a hot meal every night for their students. In addition, after 10% of donations and earnings are given to faith-based initiatives, the remaining money is split between each child. Half of which is kept as pocket money and the other half as savings, which the child will receive after graduating high school.

With hard work, dedicated volunteers, and donations, Franktown’s mission of inspiring, empowering, and equipping at-risk youth for confident, successful adult life is definitely reachable.
