To Our Resourceful E-Commerce Writer...Hello, Sophie!
Sophie Perez spent most of her childhood in her hometown, Nashville, before arriving in Boston a few years ago for school. She’s a senior at Boston University, and she’s about to graduate!

Sophie loves to go places and hang out with friends, but since quarantine has put that on hold for her, she’s been trying out tons of new hobbies whenever she gets a chance. She’s a big reader, loves listening to music, and watches a lot of movies - The Grand Budapest Hotel is her favorite. The other chunk of her free time goes towards crocheting; she just finished making her first sweater.
Fun Fact 1: Sophie has broken 9 bones so far! Ouch.
Sophie’s also a big letter-writer. She and her friends often hand-write each other letters for fun, which makes her a great fit to work at IgnitePOST — she’s been here since September as a content writing intern. Her prior exposure to handwritten letters helped make physical mail one of her favorite things to write about.
She also loves to write about e-commerce, a topic that has starred in the bulk of her articles. Shopify, customer retention, targeted ads, you name it and she’s probably written about it. Exploring a wide variety of topics, within the bubble of e-commerce, helped her focus on one area, while still being able to learn and write about new things every week. Learning keeps things interesting for Sophie, and it’s one of her favorite parts of the job.
Fun Fact 2: Sophie used to work part-time jobs in restaurants that gave her early exposure to the importance of customer service. Nowadays she gets to work on the other side, writing about great customer service.
Sophie has also done her own survey investigation where she reached out to the community to gather insights on random and targeted advertising. She wrote up a great article about it that discusses how different age groups prefer different methods of advertising; check it out here.
Currently, Sophie’s top priority is to finish college and make sure graduation runs smoothly this spring. Once that’s done, she’s planning to go to Alaska with a friend. Sounds exciting!
Like the rest of us, Sophie’s crossing her fingers that the world will get back to normal soon, so she can work in-person when college is done. Zoom has made remote work feel less remote, but for Sophie, it just can’t beat working in the same room as a team.
So, best of luck with graduation, Sophie, and have fun in Alaska!
